Web design and branding

Solenne

Solenne is a concept build for a restaurant that does not exist. I designed the brand and the site to show what a fine dining website can look like when the typography and the booking flow are both taken seriously.

This is a self-directed concept build for an invented brand, not client work.

The brief I set myself was a seasonal California and Mediterranean restaurant in West Hollywood, the kind of place where the website is often the weakest part of the experience. Restaurant sites tend to bury the menu in a PDF and hand reservations off to a third party that looks nothing like the brand.

This one treats the menu as editorial content and carries the reservation flow through in the same visual language as the rest of the site. The type does the work: large, quiet, and confident, with the photography supporting rather than shouting.

It exists as a portfolio piece, which means every section is built to production standard rather than mocked up. If a real restaurant wanted this, it would ship.
